Spain has been somewhere I've always wanted to go, I think it'll be like a cooler Lisbon. I tried calling Dr. Schmidt, but no one picked up. I'll try again all week.
I'm more excited about going to Tangier though. Mostly because it's in Africa, but also because it is in a Dylan song (if you see her say hello, she might be in Tangier) and it was a major American vacation spot (the Beat writers all hung out there). It doesn't sound so dangerous, and has lots of good beaches, while being very, very cheap. I'm thinking about staying at the hotel where Kerouac used to hang out.
I ended up missing the Rock's movie premier, it started earlier than I expected. Oh well. Since I slept in until 1, the day went by fast. Heidi and I went to the Comedy Store at 6:30 to get student tickets for the improv show. This is where "Whose Line" came from, and Josie Lawrence and Richard Vranch, who were regulars on the show were both there. We got some food there, I had an awesome falafal salad, with friends and pita bread for £5.80, quite the deal for event food. It was really good.
We had seats in the second row center. The show was really great, it was different from the long form improv of Chicago, and more short bits, a number of which were on the show. I want to go back again for sure.
Afterwards I sent in my columns and asked Brian about the vendor code. He sent me along an email explaining it all, I just have to fill out a form with the code and I get paid. I'm excited, my first bill will be for around $450, for doing stuff that's fun and not that time consuming. I have a great job. I also went over my Picasso/Girl Talk paper. I should be able to turn that in tomorrow or the next day.
Tomorrow I think I'm going to go to Windsor Castle finally, I'm excited. Other than that, there's no real plans. I'm watching Sunday Night Baseball right now as well. Maybe I'll get to catch a little of the Tigers tomorrow too.
